My dad just got news that his cancer is back
He is 87 years old

its expected
but it still hurts

Being married for 20+ years can be difficult; when your spouse is diabetic, it can be even more difficult. I have been nurse, parent, coach, mind-reader, and researcher (in addition to friend, lover and wife). Am I too bossy or not caring enough? Should I help with his insulin? Do I let him go so low that he almost dies? It is a never-ending, never-winning struggle. This is my place to let it all out. Being Tom's Wife can be great and it can be frustrating. This is my life....
uh oh. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I hope he is getting as much comfort as possible.
