Who to Follow

I keep meaning to ask
I follow a few other DH wives
but if anyone has suggestions on other blogs to follow
I would be interested to know
also, if you want me to list where I get information, let me
know and I'll post that too

there is an organization in California that trains dogs to help diabetics
I think that is really cool
too bad its so far away from me

  1. Yup, far away from me, too. I am always interested in sources of information, so please feel free to share! You may want to look at my last post, on brain lesions, etc. in Type 1 diabetics . . . and they were young. If I find any more articles like this, I will also post them. Unfortunately, I have not found any blogs out there (yet) that are really supportive of spouses, but I'm beginning to find more and more references to "out of control" diabetic husbands with nasty tempers when their sugars are out of whack. I think it is "the problem" that the medical profession rarely (if ever) talks about. However, if I do find any more helpful blogs, I will share them. Hang in there . . read your other posts, and sounds like it has been a really hard day for you!

  2. I think it is awesome to see they are training dogs to help D's. Before CGM days, I called myself my hubby's weak-o-meter. I knew he was low before he knew it and before he would even show symptoms. I still to this day don't know how, but it became a sixth sense for me. People around us would be like, he is fine, and I would argue with them, no he is not! Then he would test and he would be low. Again, I am the only one that could do this. Now we are fortunate to have the real weak-o-meter, his CGM.
